Foreclosure Awareness
The Public Education Program sponsored by the Alabama Broadcasters Association is a true service to the citizens of Alabama and shows how broadcasters are committed to providing programming that informs and educates listeners and viewers. Every day we learn about more people who have lost or are in the process of losing their homes to foreclosure. The Alabama State Bar and Legal Services Alabama formed a unique partnership to provide free legal services to any homeowner, regardless of income, to help save their home. AL-BA members participating in PEP broadcast the number of the toll-free hotline that was established and today, as a result, more than 1,000 Alabama homeowners have been helped by lawyers who are answering hotline calls. This means they can stay in their home and not have to worry. Without the PEP we could not have helped render this service. It just shows the power of broadcasting.

What is PEP

This program provides non-profit organizations and government agencies with a unique opportunity to deliver important educational messages to citizens across a state, a region or the country.

Each month, thousands of NCSA/PEP campaign messages are aired on radio and TV stations, educating viewers and listeners in large and small communities, and providing sponsoring organizations with significant returns on their investments.

Qualified campaigns can be aired in individual states or on a regional or nationwide basis. Public Education Programs are operated by each state broadcasters association in the country and the National Alliance of State Broadcasters Association (NASBA) can help coordinate multi-state or national campaigns.

Why It Works
MULTIPLY YOUR MEDIA BUDGET

Every PEP program multiplies your budget by at least three times - and it's often much more.

MORE CLOUT WITH RADIO AND TV STATIONS

Radio and TV stations are deluged with requests for PSAs. The PEP programs make sure your message gets airtime.

DOCUMENTABLE RESULTS

Airtime reports are generated each quarter showing the value of airtime given to your message and where it aired in the state.

STATEWIDE DISTRIBUTION

Affiliation with your state broadcasters association means your message is distributed to radio and TV stations throughout the entire state.

VARIOUS AIRTIMES

PEP spots normally run 7 days a week across all dayparts.

FINITE TIME PERIOD

PEP campaigns have a definite beginning and end date.
